Experiential Learning Opportunity for Graduate and Undergraduate Students

During the past few years Luther Talbert and Jamie Sherman (College of Agriculture, Montana State University) have been sponsoring a program for graduate and undergraduate students aimed at introducing them to productive agriculture.

A typical activity begins with a field day, followed by visits to farm operations, research centers and agri-business facilities, where they can meet different people involved in the wheat business.

These trips help students to see the impact of their research projects in a deeper perspective. Those coming from an urban background find this program particularly useful, since they usually have had little previous contact with field activities.
