Why is this population important?
The mapping population is derived from a cross of two adapted soft red winter wheat lines, each having partial but different sources of resistance to Stagonospora nodorum blotch, the primary focus for phenotyping and mapping/marker development of the population. The population also is segregated for Septoria tritici resistance and powdery mildew resistance, which we hope to phenotype and map resistance.
