There are PCR-based markers for each puroindoline gene of Triticum aestivum . These are PCR specific primers and CAPs markers, to get the protocols follow the links to Pina or Pinb genes.

DNA can be isolated by using a micro-scale method, but it is convenient to choose one yielding DNA of good quality, otherwise there might be problems with the amplification.
